Well summer is almost here and I am really looking forward to it!

Life is a picnic. You probably only have a few hours, so get outside and enjoy the nicer days. If packing a cooler sounds like way too much work, why not just grab a sandwich and fill up a couple of thermoses. The point is to enjoy the adventure.

This summer enjoy time off with your family! GO Stargazing ! August will be the time to witness the Perseids. This prolific meteor shower will be active between August 8 and 14, with the peak on August 12.  It’s an annual meteorological event first observed 2000 years ago. For optimum viewing try to get away from the lights of the city and lie flat on your back (pretend you are a kid again). 
At the peak, a hundred or more meteors per hour can be seen – frequent enough for even the least patient! 

I plan to have fun this summer since I have been working hard this past winter taking a branding course and updating the website in time for the 2nd anniversary! Celebration!!

Trend Spotting - Recent Statistics

The baby boomers are moving ahead into retirement and new areas of collaboration.

It is not business as usual. Retirees are not looking for a 40 hour week, instead, they are looking for flexible schedules to pursue other interests, start something of their own and contribute to their world.

In the Globe and Mail recently was an article focused on Firoz Rasul*s new position as President of Aga Khan University in Pakistan which trains nurses at a medical school and runs a hospital. The former CEO of Ballard Power Systems Inc is currently working flat out to expand the university*s reach into Africa, Afghanistan, Syria and Egypt.

Mr Rasul is tapping into his deep network of business colleagues. Canadian medical and technology specialists are donating their time and expertise to AKU projects and working with Canadian universities on initiatives. A group of Calgary residents, led by retired natural gas entrepreneur Jim Gray, have raised millions for the AKU run teacher training program to educate the next generation. Mr Gray believes that “education is at the root of long-term stability.”

It is always wonderful to hear of people offering a friendly helping hand. Working together towards a common goal while making the world a better place!
