Welcome to your shopping list for life style.
Sans Souci-Without a Care.

Have you proclaimed three cheers to the New Year and made resolutions to the last strains of Auld Lang Syne? I usually think of this as the second fresh start.

Welcome to the February 2007 issue of this newsletter.
My friend tells me 007 is the James Bond year!
Thank you for inviting me into your mailbox.
Could your friends, or associates benefit from a helping hand to start getting things under control, groceries to the house or supplies to the office?  Share this newsletter

As the year closed down, like many of you, I reviewed my goals at the office and personally. Goals require action!  One of the things I will be modifying this year is the frequency and format of this newsletter publication.

Many people have mentioned they are surprised to discover the wide variety of products I offer, therefore for the rest of 2007 I will publish this Newsletter with Product Updates in-between that will let you in on the secret!

While I was reviewing my goals, I asked myself, How am I progressing towards them? What am I doing to move forward? Specifically what steps am I taking to move forward to each goal?

The big question for all of us is  .... What is the best use of my time?   The answer is, collaborate so you can concentrate on what you do best and delegate the rest!

When you review your goals, try formatting your answers as a list of functions. I do this, then I do this, then this

Get Growing!

To make sure I continue adding value to client projects, I must keep growing myself. To ensure this happens I schedule in periods of learning and book reading and push my comfort zone by embracing new ideas and practices to optimize the outcome. Dare to dream and dream big, visualization is the key!

What lies ahead in 2007, and to the end of the decade for that matter, are new possibilities just waiting to be discovered and explored.

Genius is nothing more than enthusiasm on fire.   Author Unknown

Changes in business and technology are filtering down into the way we manage everyday activities. Do not miss the Recent Statistics article below regarding two major changes that are coming our way. The first is the baby boomers beginning to retire and the second is the growth of internet communities.

There are two ways to acquire wisdom; you can either buy it or borrow it. By buying it, you pay full price in terms of time and cost to learn the lessons you need to learn.

By borrowing it, you go to those men and women who have already paid the price to learn the lessons and get their wisdom from them.               Benjamin Franklin

Trend Spotting - Recent Statistics

Did you read some of the interesting articles written during 2006 regarding the first wave of Baby Boomers turning 60? It is hard to imagine that during the first years when boomers were born after WWII, rural Saskatchewan had not yet built power lines to farms and communities! During the next years leading up to 2010 forty per cent of the workforce, nearly 90 Million people in Canada and the US, are poised to retire! As boomers peek around the corner and look toward retirement, many are asking What will I do for the rest of my life? Many will want to remain active and decide to stay on as contract consultants after retirement, but on their own terms. There is no doubt that this trend combined with further internet developments will have a profound impact on the Canadian economy.

Business will need to adapt to these changes as they will not be able to depend totally on younger staff, such as gen-xers (1964-1976).  In addition to being in their job hopping years, younger staff may also lack experience, working at something with their heart and soul, only to discover they walked up a blind alley.

To cover the widening skills gap and keep business experience on tap, companies will need to adapt their current practices and be more flexible. Developing new approaches will help retain talented older workers and allow them to share a wealth of history on their own terms. The new flexible workplace will include contract workers and take advantage of technology developments, such as the internet, which enables people to collaborate with others from their home base, commuting only occasionally to a communal workplace.

In his 1970 book Future Shock, Alvin Toffler predicted a future where life would be speed and time, money. These days, seconds are precious and a large segment of the population is moving into the last half of their lives and the 1st years of making each minute count for more.

Have you seen the changes starting in your business?
The playing field is changing! Changes in demographics and especially the growing reach of the internet and the sheer numbers of people going online, heralds a new phase of our development. Change may not be easy to see and harder yet to accept and adapt to, but it is necessary if you want to maintain that winning edge and optimize the outcome. We will need to change even if it gets a little uncomfortable.

These changes will present far-reaching opportunities for everyone who is connected. Information technology enables people to participate, collaborate, innovate, create value, compete in the economy and create wealth for themselves and their families like never before. It will change how services are invented and marketed.

Tom Peters, business guru, in his book Trends, predicts that by 2017- 50% of the working population will be self employed. Many of those will be contract workers retained on various contracts and entrepreneurs offering services.

SAVE Time - Collaborate -Time is of the essence when you have great ideas
and every second counts!

If you want to grow your business, one area that needs to change is your ability to delegate those steps you are currently doing yourself, that may not be the best use of your time nor add the most value to the process.

Your business needs to continue adapting to and embracing change because it is the only sure way to continue adding value to the equation and optimize the outcome. Delegating and collaborating help you off load low priority tasks on your to do list and gain back the time you need to think. You can get back to the feeling that your business is FUN!

Are you attracting a team of talented people to collaborate with and help you succeed?  Partners who can kick start a new direction and give a fresh perspective?

As a personal assistant, my focus  is to become your valued strategic partner and a Lifeline Service Provider. My forte is providing the strong collaborative partnership that enables you to confidently offload those steps that are weighting you down. The steps that may be keeping you from the important tasks you need to focus on to become more effective and efficient. Collaboration will support your strategic plan and optimize your results.

My specialty is assisting sales and marketing initiatives.  Take advantage of the No Cost Consultation. We will sit down together, brainstorm and identify those tasks that can be off loaded, allowing you to focus on the real priorities. Get the job done and become more strategically effective rather than operationally efficient. Collaboration adds vibrancy and creates win win. Distractions destroy your momentum.

Call today and move forward towards your goals for this 007 year.

Initiate a plan of action today and prepare to benefit in the future from the
coming shifts and opportunities.

Working with some of the top companies in business today in the areas of manufacturing, distribution and biotech, Cheryl has provided the strong collaborative partnership that helped bring their vision to fruition.

Are you looking for an entrepreneurial opportunity that
takes advantage of the coming trends?

There is no longer any doubt that the internet is definitely an area of opportunity.
The coming decade
has been called the Age of the Entrepreneurs and the Age of Participation. There is no longer any doubt that change is afoot and a power shift is beginning which will outpace the current structure with hierarchies as the main creator of wealth. The coming new trends, new jobs, new careers and new services, will open opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop new businesses, some of which barely exist today or have even been thought of.  In the years ahead, traditional business will not be blindsided by their known competitors, but by individuals banding together, reaching for their goals while gripping their economic destinies firmly in hand.

Gain a higher rate of growth than you could ever achieve will acting alone. Collaborate and WIN.

The Refrigerator Retirement Program - a pilot program

Have you seen Al Gore*s "Inconvenient Truth" movie on climate change or been to the website  www.climatecrisis.net?  Check out the site for ideas on how you can easily change things at home, contribute to saving the environment and save money.
Climate change is important to everyone! Every act done for the good is one less act done for the demise of the planet!

Here is a program I know you will be interested in if you have an old fridge that you need to get rid of.  Dump it in an environmentally safe way and participate for the good of everyone and our children.

This pilot program is being offered by the Conservation Bureau and local utilities in the following areas:  Barrie, Mississauga, Kingston, Hamilton/Niagara Region, St. Catharines, Timmins and Windsor.

BENEFIT - Save money on your electricity bill!
Retire your old fridge www.conservationbureau.on.ca

Research shows that older fridges use three to four times the electricity of new energy-efficient units. For example, a 20-year old refrigerator can cost $180 every year for electricity compared to $49 for a new energy-efficient fridge.

The pilot program will help lessen the demand on Ontarios energy resources and offer
you opportunities to save money on your electricity bill, b
ecome more energy efficient,
and help the environment by reducing landfill use. Jon in and you can make an important investment in the future!

To participate please visit the program website at Refrigerator Retirement

Other great green projects.

At the rate technology is advancing we need to find ways to contribute to lessen the environmental impact. Here are a few ideas.

Electronic Recycling Association
Help to reduce electronic waste and help someone else get connected!  They will take old laptops or monitors, erase the data and pass them on to community centres, non profit organizations, libraries and third world countries. Locations in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal.

Recycle Cell Phones
Recycle old cell phones, give them to Project Redial a fundraising program for the Canadian Diabetes Association. You can drop off at any Canadian Diabetes Association office or participating Value Village stores.

Alternatively donate to Pitch-In-Canada, which has an environmental focus. Both work with Phone Back Canada an organization that re-manufacturers cell phones and co-ordinates their redistribution. Reduce waste and help charity or community groups keep in touch with technology.
