On a recent Saturday I took time to meet a friend for coffee. As we sat and enjoyed each others company on a beautiful day, I couldnt help notice the people rushing in and running back out. Everyone had an errand list they had to get done before the weekend ran out! We can all relate to that! I know I find it very frustrating at the end of the weekend, to realize my two days of freedom are gone and Ive barely slowed down, done anything for myself, or smelled the roses. Never mind rest!

Balancing ACT

Did you Know??

Are you frustrated with the volume of traffic that you face everyday on the road getting to work! Recently I heard that the 401 Highway across the top to Toronto is the busiest in Canada with over 4,000 cars an hour! If you have to face that everyday you definitely do not need to add extra time by stopping on the way home to pick up pasta, pet food, toilet paper and other essentials? 

That's when the question that Alan Lakein memorialized "What's the most important use of my time right now?" comes to mind! Because the truth is Id rather just go home and not have to wait in line and play parking lot search. Especially if you have a family, youll be going home to the second shift of homework, little league and piano lessons boy, talk about multi-minding!

Unleash yourself from the store.  How often do you shop? What if I could save you at least 45 min on each trip and you only had to pick up a few things rather than the whole 9 yards?  Think about it, times you shop, by 45 mins each trip. How many extra hours would that add to your weekly schedule?  Just think, with a helping hand youll have time to put 1st things first.

Remember - it's the small-but-effective actions that make the biggest impact!

Tips- Weight Maintenance

Did you decide to trim back this year? I did! I've picked up a few extra pounds and plan to lose them FAST! How are you doing with that exercise program you started in the New Year?  Have you thought of walking at lunch time? In Ontario we've had a great winter and as the weather gets better walking at lunch becomes increasingly popular. You may be able to encourage someone else to tag along. Have fun, make it social. Set a goal of time that shortens and distance that builds, over time.

Have you got a pedometer? If you're logging less than 5,000 steps daily, you need to step up your efforts. Your daily activities probably account for between 2 to 5,000 steps. Walking 5,000 or fewer steps during the day, approx 2 miles, is deemed sedentary. Lunch time walking will help you step up your activity and put you in the "active" category, which requires 10,000 daily steps.

Commit to this one simple activity, say 3 times a week, stick to it, someone is watching!

Find Your Place in Word Documents!

If you are working on a long document, it's easy to lose your place.

With Microsoft Word documents, you can pick up where you left off in your last editing session because Word keeps track of the last three locations where you typed or edited text. Just press SHIFT+F5 immediately after opening the document, and the cursor will appear at the exact point where you last made a change. To reach the previous two editing locations, press SHIFT+F5 until you reach the location you want.
